Human Resources Generalist
Conshohocken, PA | Full Time, Salary | $55,000 - $60,000

We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist to help create a strong employee experience across the YMCA. This is a broad, hands-on HR role supporting employees and leaders throughout the organization in areas including HRIS administration, recruitment, onboarding, benefits, employee relations, compliance, and other day-to-day Human Resources needs.
You'll be part of the team that helps our employees succeed and keeps essential HR processes running smoothly—from welcoming new employees and supporting managers to maintaining accurate employee records, answering questions, and helping resolve workplace concerns. What is needed for this job as our Human Resources Generalist:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field
Three to five years of experience as a Human Resources professional strongly preferred
Experience working with HCM/HRIS systems required; experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
Knowledge of applicable employment laws and Human Resources practices, including talent management, recruitment and selection, compensation, benefits, employee relations, training and development, and performance management
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees and leaders throughout the organization
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity, discretion, and professionalism
Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office products
Previous experience with nonprofit or volunteer organizations preferred
The responsibilities we will trust you with as our Human Resources Generalist:
Support day-to-day Human Resources operations and provide responsive guidance and assistance to employees and leaders across the organization
Administer HR policies, procedures, and programs while helping ensure consistent practices throughout the YMCA
Assist with HRIS administration, including employee data management, personnel records, reporting, system functionality, and user training
Facilitate hiring and onboarding processes, maintain employee information within the HRIS, and help deliver new employee orientation
Support recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt positions and other talent acquisition initiatives
Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records and support required compliance reviews and audits
Support employee relations efforts, including workplace investigations, employee relations counseling, engagement initiatives, exit interviews, and resolution of other employee concerns
Assist with benefits, employee communications, employment verifications, unemployment documentation, and other HR programs and processes
Partner with employees and leaders to answer questions, resolve concerns, and help foster a positive and engaging workplace
Help maintain and improve HR processes, employee communication tools, job descriptions, reporting, and other staff support systems
Participate in organizational meetings, training, special events, and other initiatives that support our employees and the YMCA's mission
